Introduction

ST50HE integrates ARM Cortex®-M4 (32-bit RISC core operating at a 48MHz frequency) MCU with LoRa modulation. It offers an ultra-long-range spectrum communication and high interference immunity simultaneously minimizing power consumption.

The ST50HE can achieve a sensitivity under -136 dBm. It has high sensitivity and combined with the integrated +14 dBm power amplifier yields. The industry-leading link makes it optimal for any low data rate application. LoRa also provides significant advantages in both blocking and selectivity over conventional modulation techniques. Solving traditional issues between range, interference immunity, and power consumption.

General Description

The ST50HE can achieve a sensitivity of over -136 dBm. The high sensitivity combined with the integrated +14 dBm power amplifier yields industry leading link budget making it optimal for any low data rate application requiring range or robustness. LoRa also provides significant advantages in both blocking and selectivity over conventional modulation techniques, solving the traditional design compromise between range, interference immunity and energy consumption.

General Description

 

The EK-ST50HE board provides an affordable way for user to try out LPWAN IoT applications or new concepts evaluation. It also compliance with STM32WL Nucleo-64 board to support ARDUINO Uno V3 connectivity support and the ST morpho headers.

User can download firmware built from SDK via ST-Link to test software flow and debug error according to log shown on termanal tool.

►Harmonic suppression

    Whether a harmonic suppression circuit is needed, depends on the EMI test result.

    Default value is L102=8.2nH Murata LQW15AN, C125=3.3pF, C126=3.3pF.

                            

►ESD Protection   

    If used in a harsh ESD environment, the following example is reference design for ESD Protection,

    the recommended part is:  Semtech@Rclamp2451z (1-Line, 24V)
